Chaos Is A Free-To-Play Chaotic Multiplayer Shooter

It’s hard to live up to a name like Chaos, but this game absolutely does it. Chaos is a free-to-play online first-person shooter with incredibly fast-paced gunplay. You’ll be flying around stages attempting to stay alive while simultaneously nailing perfect shots and jumps while tons of disorienting effects are happening all at the same time. It is absolute chaos and is one of the most unique FPS games that I’ve seen in a while.

Chaos is a basic deathmatch multiplayer shooter played at a much faster speed. To get the edge over your competitors you’ll need to learn how to use the game’s platforming to your advantage. You can jump and mantle over objects with floaty physics that leave you in the air for longer than you’d expect, but most importantly there are special jump pads that give you huge air. Staying alive is about using your opportunities to maximize kills while in the air and about keeping an eye up there to make sure it doesn’t happen to you.

Visibility would be an issue, but Chaos actually has a minimal almost Superhot-esque art style of flat colors with occasional pops of red for visibility’s sake, and all enemies are basically two red cubes stacked on top of each other so they’re easy enough to make out. You have access to a few weapons, an assault rifle, a sniper rifle, a shotgun, and an SMG.

The game’s maps are hectic and have a wide range of variety. There are big white rooms with little around that are all about finding jump pads and reigning death from above, there’s one claustrophobic level that is a series of interconnected cubes with random holes for you to go up or down through and eventually find enemies for some close-quarters combat, and then there’s the space level, where there is no gravity and you’re free-flying through space taking shots at enemies.

It's hard to think of a more apt name for Chaos than Chaos. You can try the game out for yourself on Steam for free.
